Agronomist graduated from the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture, University of São Paulo – Esalq/USP, class of 1971;
Graduated as a High School Special Education Teacher from the Faculty of Education of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ);
Master’s Degree in Communication from Universidade Paulista – Unip;
Member of the Higher Agribusiness Council – COSAG – of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo – Fiesp;
Member of the Sugar and Alcohol Sector Chamber of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – Mapa;
Retired professor at UFSCar – Federal University of São Carlos in the Department of Biotechnology and Plant and Animal Production – DBPVA;
Former coordinator of the Regional Office of the Federal University of São Carlos – UFSCar, in Araçatuba/SP;
Former head of Planalsucar’s sugarcane experimental station in Valparaíso, and of UFSCar/Ridesa, having contributed to the implementation of PróAlcool in the Araçatuba/SP region.
He was one of the driving forces behind the creation, in 1985, of UDOP – União Nacional da Bioenergia (National Bioenergy Union), where he currently holds the position of Executive President. UDOP has trained more than 250,000 professionals in the bioenergy sector;
He is a member of the Municipal Council for the Defense of the Environment – Condema and the Municipal Council for Science, Technology and Innovation of the Araçatuba City Hall;
He is Executive President of UDOP – National Bioenergy Union.
