Cidinho Santos is a businessman in agribusiness and a politician. He served as the mayor of Nova Marilândia-MT for three terms, as Secretary of State for Strategic Projects of MT, and as a Senator of the Republic. He also served as vice-president of the Parliamentary Front for Agriculture (FPA) while in the Senate. He is the author of the project that led to Law No. 14,943, which extends the same tax treatment—exemption from social contributions (PIS/Pasep and Cofins) granted to soybeans—to corn bran and corn oil. With a strong focus on defending the Brazilian agribusiness and biofuels sector, he was the rapporteur of the National Biofuels Policy – RenovaBio in the Senate and worked intensively for the approval of the Regulatory Framework for Biodiesel.
He is the President of MC Empreendimentos e Participações Holding, which operates in agroindustry with poultry and pork processing plants, premium pet food production, and mineral feed and supplements, as well as biodiesel industries in the states of MT, PA, PI, and SP. He is currently the President of the Fiscal and Administrative Council of Nova Rota do Oeste, the concessionaire that manages BR 163/364 and the Rodovia dos Imigrantes in MT, and is also a Member of the Superior Council of Agribusiness (Cosag) of FIESP.
